Volunteer (and more!) Partaaay!

We have a lot of things to celebrate, don't you think? First, those white shoes at the start of the above music video.

Second, Marina STEPPED UP, Tyler Gage style, to give our racers an awesome Fourth Annual Lander Sprint Triathlon. Her organization, poise, and vision payed off for NINETY TWO racers on Saturday, as well as countless fans.

Third, we had some pretty awesome stories out on the race course this year. They included Debra's courage, Sammy's comeback, Lindsey's determination, Melissa's first triathlon, guests from out of town discovering our awesome race and tri community, and so much more!

Fourth, the race had so many awesome moments, you all get to experience the club president's love for lists in blogs. Again.

Fifth: Oh. My. GOSH we had some (read: about a million) incredible volunteers out there! They were so on the ball, and they made our racers' day so awesome. For free, in the wee hours of the morning, in the heat of the day, in the steamy pool and out on the radiating pavement, and at the storage unit long after the race was over. These people, I tell ya ... I don't even know how to thank them.
You're right, Ron Burgundy. That was a lie. A baldfaced lie. I do know how to thank our volunteers while celebrating items 1-4: a PARTAY (it has to be spelled that way, according to the Chicago Manual of Style, in this instance).

Come enjoy leftover food from the race (so. many. bagels. bags and bags of chips. veggies galore ...), celebrate the people who make races happen (director, volunteers, racers and their support systems), and maybe get some leftover swag (did I hear something about finisher medals?).

We'll see you on Thursday, August 14, at 6 p.m. at the Lander City Park. If the pavilion on Fremont is being used, we'll go back to the Lions Club pavilion by the river. Deal? Deal. Please forward this to anyone you think should be there!!!

High five, guys

But despair not—summer is coming, and so is the Fourth Annual Lander Sprint Triathlon!

It's time to dig out those jogging shorts, tune up that rear derailleur, and get ready to crush. The Lander Triathlon Club is pleased to announce the fourth running of its sprint-length triathlon—750m pool swim, 19K bike, and 5K run—in the heart of downtown Lander.
